OBOA is a not for profit organization dedicated to represent, support and enhance the efforts of building officials by providing for public safety through code administration.
Membership Benefits
With approximately 240 members throughout the State, OBOA provides information and education not only to building officials and their personnel, but to a growing number of contractors, building designers, architects and engineers. Some of the membership benefits include:
Publications: OBOA publishes a bimonthly newsletter, special bulletins, code updates and special regulatory and legislative alerts.
Networking Opportunities: OBOA has quarterly business meetings and an annual conference designed to keep members informed of the organization's business affairs as well as to provide a forum for discussion on topics of interest.
Education & Training: As a member of the Code Officials Education Consortium of Oregon, OBOA sponsors a Spring and Fall Institute -- each providing an array of instructors addressing various code change and code related subjects. OBOA also sponsors several special one-day education and training programs during the course of the year. Members receive reduced registration fees at all OBOA-sponsored programs.
Books: Members of the association save money through reduced prices on code and code-related books offered by OBOA’s Bookstore.
Code Development: Through its Code Development Committee, OBOA is involved in state, national and international code development activities.
Governmental Affairs Advocacy: OBOA provides governmental affairs representation at the State Capitol, the Building Code Division and building industry policy forums.
